TROWELABLE BACKING

PASTE CONSISTENCY EPOXY BACKING MATERIAL FOR LARGE CRUSHERS, MILLS, AND GENERAL PLANT USE

TROWELBAC is a 2 component, 100% solids paste-type epoxy resin system specifically formulated for use in replacing worn mill liners without removing the charge. The paste-like consistency makes TROWELBAC easy to handle and apply to vertical surfaces.

TROWELBAC can be used for the same purpose as REDBAC CRUSHER BACKING. TROWELBAC is applied to the backs and bolt holes of the liner segments to lock the bolts and liner in place.

Other uses of TROWELBAC are as an adhesive, patching compound, or corrosion inhibiting coating in general plant use.

PACKAGING/CONVENIENCE:

TROWELBAC is conveniently packaged in 2 gallon kits containing premeasured containers of resin and hardener. To use, simply mix the resin and hardener in a 1:1 ratio by volume and apply. Unmixed material remaining in the cans can be resealed for future use.

WORKLIFE:

The worklife (the time you have before it sets) of TROWELBAC will vary according to the air temperature. The average worklife at 70 ° F will be 45 minutes for approximately 1 pint of mixed material. In cooler weather, you will have more time to work with the material, and in hotter weather you will have less time.

CURE TIME:

The cure time (the time before the mill can be restarted) will also depend on the air temperature and the temperature of the mill parts themselves. The average cure time from the last application to mill start-up at 70° F will be 4 to 5 hours. Preheating the mill parts will accelerate the cure time. Do not heat parts hotter than 100° F.
