Over beers and peanuts at Carter’s restaurant in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Pat Copps and RWB form a partnership to produce epoxy crusher backing. Both being very familiar with the product, RWB provides manufacturing and operational know-how and Pat Copps offers sales and financial backing. Copps Industries incorporated shortly thereafter.
Copps 1.0 begins. Copps Industries leases a 5,000-square-foot space in a multi-tenement building on Fountain Boulevard in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, scrounging for used equipment to start operations. The company hires 18-year-old Chris Miller as its first employee, who continues with Copps today.
In anticipation of potential growth, and in an aura of optimism, Copps purchases a 10,000-square-foot building nearby on Commerce Drive in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The additional space supports product development and manufacturing, ushering in Copps 2.0.
Milestone sales achieved within the company's first decade!

In this defining year, a global OEM becomes Copps' second million-dollar private label account. With a significant portion of international work, this enables revenue to reach a new milestone.
Exemplifying the company’s passion for quality and validating its existing quality systems, Copps achieves ISO 9001:1994 certification on its first attempt.
Sales jump with private label construction and grout products, reaching an exciting new company sales record. Major R&D efforts result in the development and introduction of new technology: Copps' first polyurea product, which the market eagerly anticipates.
After development effort, Copps makes major product breakthroughs, introducing its second poly-urea construction product material and a precast coating specifically for steel forms.
Copps also makes an informal agreement with a UK chemical company to manufacture epoxy formulations for the EU, making their first batch in July. Sales are now at record levels.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19, 2020 proves to be a transformational year for Copps Industries. The Copps team quickly adapts and begins to work remotely under new pandemic protocols while maintaining excellent customer service and support.
The company officially enters the craft epoxy arena through private label internet entrepreneurs. Record grout sales and craft epoxy growth propelled corporate sales to a heretofore unheard-of level.
